In the previous period, TUVUKE Initiative undertook a series of activities to mobilize and support women for active engagement in democratic processes.  Women's participation and empowerment remains a core part of TUVUKE Initiative's strategy as, apart from being denied equal status; women bear the brunt of poverty in Kenya.

TUVUKE Initiative is convinced that through the strategies identified for women empowerment, we shall be able to realize better progress in women human rights, greater participation in public life and decision-making. TUVUKE Initiative will proactively create a platform to involve the women in enhancing their participation in leadership and also in bringing about reconciliation, national healing, peace, cohesion and integration in the country. We shall also identify young women across the 47 counties in both public and private sectors and seek to increase their confidence and skills for active leadership through a mentorship programme.
